    Frederick Anton Kievits (1887-1951)

    Born in Bogor, Java, Sept. 10, 1887. He was a painter and draughtsman and lived and worked in Indonesia in the 1920s and 30s. He had a one-man-show in Jakarta, at Kunstzaal & Co. in 1930. In 1938 he participated in the prestigious Bondscollectie' of Jakarta - organized by the Dutch Colonial Bataviasche Kunstkring formed to showcase works by Dutch painters born in Indonesia.

    During World War II he was interned by the Japanese and held in concentration camp.

    In 1949 he had another one-man-show in The Hague at the spectacular venue, the Panorama Mesdag.
