In 1977 he worked freelance, and with Günter Huniat founded the studio of Monollon. In 1984 Heinze participated in the first Leipzig autumn Salon with Dammbeck, Wegewitz, Huniat and Sprite. Since 1986 he has collaborated with the ceramicist Claudia Rückert.
