Frieder Heinze was born in 1950 in Leipzig, Germany. From 1969-1974 Frieder studied at the HGB in Leipzig. From 1974-77 Heinze was a master student of Werner Tübke and Bernhard Heisig. In 1977 he worked freelance, and with Günter Huniat founded the studio of Monollon. In 1984 Heinze participated in the first Leipzig autumn Salon with Dammbeck, Wegewitz, Huniat and Sprite. Since 1986 he has collaborated with the ceramicist Claudia Rückert.
