    Fritz Martinz studied at the Vienna Academy under Albert Paris Gütersloh from 1947 to 1950. He became a member of the Vienna Secession in 1949 and participated in the Venice Biennale in 1953. Alongside Alfred Hrdlicka, Martinz was part of a group of post-war Austrian artists known for their unadorned and realistic portrayal of the human body, particularly in female nudes. Karl Diemer described Martinz's work as focusing on modeling heavy, bulging bodies and accumulating the corporeality of modernity in his paintings."Figure" catalog for an exhibition at the Zentralsparkasse in Vienna in 1969...
