About Fritz Nuss

  • Biography

    After apprenticeship as a chaser, Fritz Nuss studied in Schwäbisch Gmünd under the tutelage of Albert Holl, in Munich under Hermann Hahn and in Stuttgart under Ludwig Habich. In 1943, he was appointed as a professor. From this time on he lived in Strümpfelbach, which is part of Weinstadt. Today a sculpture garden displays the extensive range of all that he has created. His son, who is also a sculptor, created this special garden.

    Nuss led the class for sculptural design at the advanced technical college of design in Schwäbisch Gmünd for twenty years, from 1952 to 1972.
