About Gaston Hauchecorne

    Gaston Hauchecorne was a French artist born in Le Havre in 1880. He worked as a teacher and interpreter in Beijing before becoming the director of the consulate in Chongqing. Hauchecorne exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français and participated in the Colonial Exhibition of Marseille in 1922. He was known for his sculpture work in terracotta or bronze. Hauchecorne was a member of the sculptors group "La Stèle" along with Henri Bouchard, Max Blondat, and Paul Landowski. He died in Paris in 1945.
