Asse was a pioneering French abstract painter and printmaker, widely recognized for her signature color known as bleu Asse—a luminous, meditative shade of blue that became central to her artistic identity.

    A native of Brittany, Geneviève Asse was deeply influenced by the vast skies and coastal landscapes of the region. Her canvases often explore themes of space, light, and silence, rendered in subtle variations of blue that evoke both atmosphere and emotion.
