    The multi-talented artist, Georg Karl Koch (1857-1931) was initially educated by his father and then began studying at the Berlin Academy as pupil of Karl Gussow. Koch had his debut at the Berlin Academy exhibition in 1874 with the painting Waldpartie mit Rehen. In the following years he mainly painted panoramas and dioramas for Berlin, Leipzig, Dresden, and even cities in the United States. Many of his paintings were given to officers' clubs, such as the Royal Ulan Regiment in Hannover.

    Later, animals were starting to become his favorite motifs and he particularly made a name for himself with realistically rendered hunting, sporting and military works. In addition to this, Koch created numerous...
