    George Fall was born in 1848. He was a painter of landscapes, portraits and topographical views. He worked in oils and watercolors.

    Fall is best known for his small, detailed watercolors of York, showing the Minster, the City and the River Ouse. Residing in York all of his life, he still traveled extensively around England. While the artist was traveling, he was painting Cathedrals. Locations recorded are Durham, Hereford, Wells, Canterbury, Lincoln, and London.

    His works can be seen in The City Art Gallery, York. A portrait of Prince Albert Victor, Duke of Clarence (1864-1892) is held in The Royal Collection at Windsor Castle.
