    George Wallace Olson was born in Moline, Illinois on May 4, 1876. Olson was a sign painter in Kankakee, Illinois in 1900. He continued in that capacity after moving to Los Angeles in 1923. In his leisure he became a competent painter of the southern California landscape. He was active there until his death in Hollywood on March 7, 1938.

    Exhibited: Chamber of Commerce (Hollywood), 1926; SouthernCalifornia Artists, San Diego Fine Art Gallery, 1926-27; Fitzgerald Salon (Glendale), 1927; Artists Fiesta (Los Angeles), 1931; Painters & Sculptors of Los Angeles, 1938; Beverly Hills Hotel, 1938 (memorial).
