Nemethy, was born in Germany, on the way fleeing from Soviet occupied Hungary, and immigrated to the USA at the age of one. She grew up in the picturesque Hudson River Valley, full of historical memories of once great times, and as an artist, she became known for her Hudson River landscapes and marine scenes. Her favorite subjects are of the past glorious time of the steam age, where majestic steam and sailing ships were simultanously ruling the waves of rivers, lakes and seas. Her father, who studied art at the Budapest and Munich Academies of Art, became her professor, as he was for all six of the Nemethy siblings, who are by now established artists in their own...
