One of his famous pieces was called "Black Magic". He drew mostly architectural pieces of buildings, and scenes from New York City. He spent four years in Paris drawing different scenes of the rivers and parks and was in Paris because he was in the service during World War I.
He had some pieces in the Brooklyn Musuem of Art at one point and designed wrought iron on many of the Manhattan buildings, in a project to improve New York City's sky line.

I own an original lithograph of a building at Smith College which I received as an award for excellence in music at my graduation from Kohler High School, Kohler, WI in 1951.
The signed lithograph, in its original frame and mat, has been an inspiration to me over the years as I pursued my calling as a church musician and singer.
I grew up as the eldest of seven siblings, living on a farm near the village of Kohler, WI. Very few of us "outsiders" were considered for a scholarship or an award.
I was thrilled to receive the music award for my class. Music has been my life's blood and a joy to my husband and many choirs for 50 years. I sincerely hope that you will add this to the history of Gerald Kenneth Geerlings.
The lithograph was purchased from The F. H. Bresler Co., Milwaukee, WI and presented to me from Evangeline Kohler, whose signature is on the back. It is something I have treasured and I will never let it go unrecognized. We have no children so we may have it placed in the John Michael Kohler Art Center, Sheboygan, WI. which is headed by Ruth DeYoung Kohler, the grand niece of Evangeline Kohler.
