Gerard Boersma (Harlingen, 1 August 1976) is a Dutch painter in Northern Realism. His work is characterized by a very fine technique and is comparable to that of his great-uncle Jopie Huisman.

Gerard Boersma was born in Harlingen and grew up in the Frisian cities of Makkum, Workum and Bolsward. He has been living and working in Leeuwarden since his study period. In 1999 he completed the training as a second degree art teacher in Leeuwarden. He graduated in 2001 in the direction of drawing at the Academy Minerva in Groningen.

The paintings by Gerard Boersma are mainly situated in an urban landscape. The development in the influence of man on the landscape and the interaction that occurs here are central. Pictured figures usually show little social interaction. They are mainly shown in their confrontation with the urban elements.

The painter also makes still life of utensils and products such as fruit and vegetables, foodstuffs and clothing.
