    Gerhard Rommel (born February 10, 1934 in Schalkau; † June 6, 2014 in Gransee was a German sculptor, medalist, coin designer and painter.

    Gerhard Rommel attended the technical college for applied arts in Sonneberg from 1948 to 1951. Here he was trained as a ceramic model. During his studies from 1952 to 1958 at the University of Fine and Applied Arts in Berlin-Weißensee, he took lessons from Heinrich Drake and Theo Balden.

    Gerhard Rommel worked as a freelancer in Berlin since 1958. From 1963 to 1965 he was a master student of Fritz Cremer at the German Academy of the Arts. Since 1962, Rommel has organized solo exhibitions at home and abroad and participated in central exhibitions in the GDR.
