    Giancarlo Isola is a listed Italian Modernist painter, born in the Tuscan town of Livorno in 1927. He lived primarily in Rome and exhibited his works throughout Italy as well as abroad. He participated in the Rome Quadriennale in 1951, 1955 and 1959; in the Mostra Nazionale d'Arti Figuative of Tarato and Bari in 1959, 1963 and 1965, and also at the Manifestaione Arti Figurative of Rome and Latium in 1959, 1963 and 1965.

    In 1959 he participated in the following exhibitions abroad: Obras de Pintura Italiana Contempranea in Lima, Peru, Italy; Three Directions in San Francisco, CA; Young Italian Painters in Tokyo, Japan; Young Italian Painters in Houston, TX; and other Amercian venues in Charlotte, NC, and Galleria Roma in Chicago,...
