After initial involvement with color harmonies and still lives in the Cubist and Fauvist style, Morandis developed in the 1950s from influences of various informal art trends his own visual language in accordance to Lucio Fontana’s Movimiento spaziale, whose representatives he counted. From the 1930s to the 1970s Morandi was represented at numerous Rome Quadriennales and Biennales in Venice, he also won numerous awards, as the Premio Michetti in 1962. (fea)
