In 1946 he joined the diplomatic service from which he resigned in 1959 when he was appointed professor at the School of Fine Arts, a position he held until 1982. In 1946 he joined the diplomatic service from which he resigned in 1959 when he was appointed professor at the School of Fine Arts, a position he held until 1982. He is a self-taught artist who begun to pain systematically at the end of WW2, experimenting with various techniques, such as oils, tempera, watercolor and encaustic art. During his stay in Paris (1950 - 52) he was able to follow closely contemporary visual trends. He had numerous individual exhibitions in Athens, New York and elsewhere.
