    We acquired a painting in Los Angeles several years ago from a dealer no longer in business. On the back of the painting there is a sticker typed in Italian which can be translated and paraphrased as follows:

    This painting is by Giuseppe Cavalleri, born in Milan on 24 November 1893. He studied under Ricardo Pellegrini in the school of Brera in Milan, and in Barcelona. He fought in World War I from 1915-1918 in which his right arm was crippled permanently. After much effort after the war he learned to paint with his left hand. He traveled all over the world as a painter.
