About Giuseppe Nuvolone

  • Biography

Giuseppe Nuvolone was an Italian painter born into a family of important artists in the 17th century. He was the son of Panfilo and brother of Carlo Francesco, both painters of high rank. He followed his brother's stylistic choices, but his painting diverges in the use of a clearer palette and sometimes a vein of tragicity that is difficult to find in Carlo Francesco. In the 60s and 70s, he worked in important decorative companies with a sacred and profane theme in Milan, often alongside other notable artists. Later, he was active in Rome, Cremona, and Brescia.
