    Guido Gonin, son and pupil of Francesco, was an artist known for his genre paintings characterized by intimate atmospheres and eighteenth-century suggestions. He was introduced to the Piedmontese aristocracy by his father and became a renowned portraitist. Gonin also delved into the art of lithography, producing illustrations for periodicals and magazines. In the late sixties, he moved to Paris where he achieved considerable success without succumbing to French influences. Some of his notable works include "The Intimate Life," "The Secret Door," and "The Stepmother," preserved in the Civic Museum of Turin. Additionally, a work depicting a similar subject is housed in the Gallery of Modern Art, Musei di Nervi in Genoa.
