Biography
Gunnar Nylund (1904-1997) was a Swedish ceramicist, designer and sculptor. Gunnar Nylund was in periods active at Bing & Grøndahl, had for a few years his own workshop, Saxbo stentøj and worked at Nymølle ceramics factory in Denmark. The majority of his working life he lived in Sweden and was hired at Rörstrandsfabriken 1931-59 where he was also assigned the role of artistic director. He has become known for his many different animal sculptures in stoneware, but also made lots of vases, bowls, lamp feet, etc., as well as tableware and other utility goods. Nylund also designed glass for Strömbergshyttan.
