About Gustav Gurschner

    Gustav Gurschner (1873-1970) studied at the art academy in Vienna under August Kühne and Otto König. He later moved to Munich where he kept on studying. In 1897 he moved to Paris, where he was strongly influenced by the art nouveau movement that animated him to create several handcrafted objects.

    Gurschner was a member of the Vienna Secession, of the Hagenbund and the artists' association and the artists' house. He received many awards.
