    He Haixia, also known as Ying Haixia, was a Chinese painter born in Beijing. At the age of 18, he joined the Peking Chinese Painting Research Association and became a disciple of Zhang Daqian in 1935. He studied for 14 years and was known for his arrogance. In 1936, he held a painting exhibition with Qi Baishi and Zhang Daqian, which brought him to the forefront of the art scene. He co-founded the "Chang'an School of Painting" with Zhao Wangyun and Shi Lu, and together they were known as the "Three Masters of Shaanxi". He served as the vice president and honorary president of the Shaanxi Academy of Chinese Painting and was a researcher at the Chinese Academy of Chinese Painting.
