    Hanns Oehme, also Hans (born May 23, 1899 in Dresden as Arthur Johannes Oehme. He was a German painter and connoisseur of cacti. Its official botanical author's abbreviation is "Oehme".

    Hanns Oehme was the son of the Dresden upholsterer August Hermann Oehme, who later traded in antique furniture. His brother was Georg Egmont Oehme.

    Hanns Oehme completed an apprenticeship as a decorator. After the First World War, in which he participated as a soldier from 1917 to 1918, he began studying in 1918 at the Dresden Art Academy under Ferdinand Dorsch (1875–1938).

    Later he was a master student with Richard Dreher (1875-1932) and finished his studies in 1923. From 1924 Oehme worked as a freelance in Obervogelgesang near Pirna. ...
