    Harold Cohn was a painter, designer and lithographer who began exhibiting his art in Detroit around 1930.

    During his career, Harold Cohn explored many elements of modern art. Some of his paintings and drawings are related to Cubism in their manner of construction while others are more closely reminiscent of Matisse. These influences can be seen in many of his drawings and paintings.

    His work has been exhibited in museums and galleries around the country including, The Detroit Institute of Arts (1933-45), The Carnegie Institute (1941, 1943), The Los Angeles Museum of Art (1945), The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts (1934), and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (1942).
