    Harry Pennell, born in 1879 in Birmingham, England, was a British artist and illustrator known for his watercolour landscapes of the English countryside. He studied at the Birmingham School of Art and the Royal College of Art in London. Pennell's works were influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement and the Pre-Raphaelites, evolving from romantic landscapes to a more impressionistic style capturing the changing light and colors of England. He was a member of the Royal Watercolour Society and exhibited at the Royal Academy. Pennell also worked as an illustrator for various publications and illustrated books such as English folk songs and Shakespeare's sonnets.
