    Heinrich Witz (born October 16, 1924 in Leipzig, † March 1997 in Halle / Saale) was a German painter and graphic artist.

    Witz attended elementary school in Leipzig until 1939. From 1939 to 1942 he trained as a color lithographer. After serving in the war and being a prisoner of war, he studied with Kurt Masslow at the Leipzig Academy of Graphics and Book Art from 1945 to 1948. After working as a cultural functionary at IG Metall Leipzig, he worked as a freelance artist in Bitterfeld from 1961. He was a member of the Association of Visual Artists of the GDR and temporarily chairman of its Leipzig district association.
