    Hella Jacobs, 1905-1974, The painter, graphic artist and illustrator Hella Jacobs studied at the School of Arts and Crafts in Hamburg and belonged to the artistic avant-garde of the pre-war years. She mainly deals with the human being as a theme in her works. Described as "degenerate", her artistic career was interrupted and she was unable to gain a foothold as a painter after the Second World War.

    German painter and graphic artist, Hella Jacobs studied at Hamburg and Altona arts schools from 1924 to 1926, did study trips to Italy and Paris and was friends with K. Kluth.
