About Henrik Gamst Jespersen

  • Biography

    Henrik Jespersen (1853-1936) specialized in landscapes and often did paintings with sunsets and sunrises. He was very inspired by the artist Janus la Cour and was a pupil of Wilhelm Kyhn, and like them, he created a highly romantic mood in his oils.

    Jespersen was known especially for his detailed and romantic landscapes from the Alps and Zealand. Jespersen has received numerous art prizes and had his work exhibited in Denmark, Germany, Paris, Chicago, and Budapest.
