    Henry (also Henri) van Velthuysen (Tandjoeng (Dutch East Indies), 17 April 1881 – The Hague, 4 December 1954) was a Dutch painter and journalist.

    Van Velthuysen was born in what was then the Dutch East Indies. He was a son of the later assistant resident Wilhelmus Adrianus van Velthuijsen (also Velthuysen) and Tjoa Giok On. He married Clara Adelaide Boers in 1902 in The Hague, from whom he was divorced in 1912. He married Emilie Wiemans in 1913 in Batavia.

    Van Velthuysen studied Fine Arts at the University of California - Berkeley and then settled in Batavia in 1905. He was a member of the Batavian art circle. His work consists mainly of oil paintings, while a single drawing has also been preserved. His genres are mainly portr...
