  • Biography

    Henryk Stazewski studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw from 1913-1920. In the beginning of his carrier he painted still life and exhibited temporarily with the "Formist" group (1922). He also took part in the New Art Exhibition in Vilnius in 1923. From that time on his creations became closer to the constructivism stream.

    Beside painting he was also engaged in book graphic, interior design, and scenography. The Polish and international vanguard groups he exhibited with and cooperated as a publisher where: "The Block", Praesens(1926-30), "Cercle et Carré"(1929-1931), "Abstraction-Création"(1931-1939), "a.r." (1932-1939).
