    Herbert Menzies Marshall was a London-based artist who was a member of prestigious art societies such as the Royal Watercolour Society and the Royal Society of Painters and Etchers. He was a pupil of the French architect Questel and served as a Professor of Landscape Painting at Queen's College, London. Marshall exhibited a significant number of works, totaling 277, between 1871 and 1893 at various renowned venues. An exhibition of his artwork was held at The Fine Art Society in 1886 and later at the Abbey Gallery in 1935.
