    Hubert Arthur Finney (1905-1991)

    He went to Beckenham School of Art in London and won a scholarship to the Royal College of Art in London and studied under Eric Gill and William Rothenstein. He taught life drawing at Reading University, Berkshire UK.

    The UK Government hold a watercolor by the artist which is a copy of a Paul Sandby painting of Holbein Gate. It was gifted to the collection by Roland Williams in 1931. The GAC number is 0/610. Other works of H A Finney were exhibited at the Royal Academy summer exhibitions and at the Paris Salon .
