  • Biography

Born in 1954 among horses, Hubert de Watrigant is a self-taught artist who has devoted his life to animal painting and sculpture. Fascinated by the equestrian world and bullfighting, he takes part in numerous exhibitions around the world. He regularly collaborates with Hermès, for whom he creates models for their emblematic silk squares.

For one example, the artist sculpts a life-size giant of horse racing, the trotter Ourasi. The legendary horse nicknamed the Lazy King, with his shady character and unrivaled career, remains the only trotter in history to have won four Prix d'Amérique.
