    Hugo August Bernhard Breul was born in Saalfeld, Germany in 1854. A painter of portraits, figures., genre, and outdoor scenes, he studied at the Royal Academy of Art in Munich. He was a member of the Providence Art Club and the Providence Watercolor Society.
