    Ian Hugh Wallace BA, MA, D.Litt. (1943)

    An important and influential Canadian painter, graphic artist, printmaker, muralist, photographer, conceptual artist, art historian, art critic, art theorist and educator, Ian Wallace was born in Shoreham, England, to Canadian parents, and has been living in Canada since 1944. Vancouver has been his home since 1953. He is considered one of the fathers of the Vancouver School* of photo-conceptualism, which is currently considered, by many, to be one of the most important art movements in Canada.
