    Ignacio (Nacho) Rosas was born in Orizaba in 1880.

    Rosas received his first prize from the Academy of San Carlos at age 11.

    In 1905 Rosas obtained a pension to travel to Paris and when he returned, in 1911, he was appointed professor of the academy.

    Later Rosas lived in the United States, where he stood out as a portraitist. His work was strongly influenced by that of Renoir.

    Ignacio (Nacho) Rosas passed away in 1950 in Mexico.
