    The following information is provided by Ralph Diethelm from Zurich Switzerland:

    I have three pictures by this artist acquired in the 1950's. The pictures were given by Mr. Henry Ford to his housekeeper at Fairlane (Dearborn, Michigan) who subsequently gave them to my mother and from my mother to me.

    Irving R. Bacon was a sponsored protege of Henry Ford and studied art in Munich, Germany in the early 1900's. Upon his return to the United States, Mr. Bacon became the "house" painter for Henry Ford and the Ford family, and subsequently for many years, the Editor-in-Chief of the in-house periodical, "Ford Times."

    He has never been widely exhibited and his paintings (as far as I know) are in the Edison Museum at Greenfield...
