About Isabelle Ferry

    An impressionist painter, Isabelle Ferry lived primarily in Easthampton, Massachusetts but kept a studio in Boothbay Harbor, Maine where she was a prominent artist and gave art lessons. She also painted in Bermuda.

    She was born in Williamsburg, Massachusetts, and studied in Paris with Adolphe William Bouguereau, and Robert Fleury. Returning to America, she took lessons from Robert Henri and Dwight Tryon.

    She was known for brightly colored paintings of thick impasto and subjects included New England bays, cottages, and gardens.
