    Jack Weldon Humphrey was a very prominent Canadian painter, draughtsman and printmaker. His works are included in most exhibitions that examine 20th Century Canadian art and Canadian modern art; dozens of examples are also in the permanent collections of Canadian museums.

    He was born in St. John, New Brunswick, where he lived most of his life and where he died suddenly at the height of his career. (1)
