    Jaime Gaspar Isidoro, Painter and watercolorist, was born in Porto in 1924 and died in 2009. He studied painting at the Escola de Soares dos Reis. He held his first exhibition in 1945. In 1954 he founded Galeria Alvarez, which had a great influence on the dissemination of Modern Art in Portugal.

    He held the First Posthumous Exhibitions of Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso in 1956 and Eduardo Viana in 1967. He was awarded the "Order of Merit, Grand Officer" by the President of the Republic, Prof. Doctor Aníbal Cavaco Silva, in 2006. Jaime Isidoro obtained numerous awards and medals in painting and watercolor exhibitions from 1945 to 1986.
