    Born in 1853, Jan Czeslaw Moniuszko was the son of an outstanding composer, Stanislaw. From 1871, he studied painting in the Warsaw Drawing Class with Wojciech Gerson and Antoni Kaminski, and also privately with Gerson and Dziadulewicz. In 1878 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg. In 1879, at an exhibition in Warsaw's Zacheta, Moniuszko drew the attention of critics with the painting "Jadwiga's first meeting with Jagiello". He exhibited numerous times at Zacheta, in the Krywult Salon, the Ungr Salon and the Art Salon, where in 1905 there was a collective exhibition of his works (about 50 paintings). He also exhibited in Kraków, Lódz and Kiev. Jan Czeslaw Moniuszko painted genre, historical, and religious scenes....
