    Jan Dobkowski (Lomza 1942, lives in Warsaw) studied in the years 1962-1968 at the Faculty of Painting at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts under the direction of prof. Juliusz Studnicki and Jan Cybis. While still in college, in 1966, he created an artistic collaboration in which his partner was Jerzy (Jurry) Zielinski. Their first joint exhibition entitled Neo-Neo-Neo took place in Warsaw in 1967. They exhibited together until 1970. In 1968, the first green-red paintings by Dobkowski (using the pseudonym Dobson at that time) were created. In these works, operating with flexible, wavy lines in which the influence of Art Nouveau was perceived, the artist used methods from the op-art to evoke optical illusion...
