    Jean-Louis Paguenaud was a French painter who lived in Algiers during his childhood, where he discovered the sea. He later moved to Limoges, attended a decorative arts school, and worked in a porcelain factory. Paguenaud studied with William Bouguereau and joined the navy, traveling and exhibiting his works at the Salon des Indépendants in 1905. In 1922, he competed to become the official painter of the Navy. Paguenaud lived on a barge in Paris for a time before settling in Limoges, where he passed away in 1952. His works can be found in Paris at the Maritime Museum and in Bordeaux at the Naval Health School....
