    Canadian born, Jean-Pierre Larocque was educated at Alfred University, one of the most prestigious of institutions for learning the art of ceramics. He has taught at Emily Carr in Vancouver, BC, the U of Georgia, the U of Michigan, Cal State and Alfred.



    His horse structures have been described as 'craggy.' "My work is preoccupied with language, this ordering device, outside of which no meaning is attainable. It is about assessing dosages of order and wondering what it stands for. I try to get as close as possible to the semantic fiction that a piece made itself while I looked the other way.
