    Jean François Xavier Roffiaen, a 19th-century artist known for his Alpine landscape paintings, preferred to paint scenes from Switzerland, Austria, and Bavaria. He gained recognition from collectors such as the Shah of Persia and the royal houses of Belgium and Great Britain. One of his paintings depicting the Bavarian Königsee was gifted by Prince Albert to Queen Victoria in 1861 and is currently part of the Royal Collection at Osborne House. Unfortunately, a study trip to Scotland commissioned by Queen Victoria in the same year was canceled due to the sudden death of the Prince Consort....
