    Jean Dupas is known for painting and at deco glass design. He was born in Bordeaux in 1882. He studied with Carolus-Duran and Albert Besnard at l'École des Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux.

    Dupas was awarded the Grand Prix de Rome in 1910. He exhibited at the Salon de la Société des Artistes Français and received several awards at the salon, including a Gold Medal in 1922. In 1925 Dupas finally received international fame when he was asked by Emile-Jacques Ruhlmann to decorate his pavilion at the Exposition
    Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels in Paris. He was awarded the Légion d'Honneur in 1926.
