    Jerome Mesnager, born on 30 January 1961, in Colmar (Haut-Rhin) is a French painter. Father of the "Man in White", he is one of the first painters of Parisian street art, known as "urban art" or "graffiti".

    Son of an engineer, Jerome Mesnager entered the Ecole Boulle in 1974 where he trained to be a cabinetmaker and where he taught later. In 1979, he took cartoon courses cartoon from Yves Got and Georges Pichard, professors at the School of Applied Arts Duperré .

    That school was a founding place in 1982 of Zig-Zag, a group of a dozen very young artists who "zigzag in the jungle of cities" and who decide to occupy the streets. They drew graffiti, and with artistic performances, briefly occupied the time of factory workers.
