About Jerry Wilkerson

  • Biography

    Wilkerson was born in 1943 in Beaumont, Texas. He earned a BS in Commercial Art from Lamar University in Beaumont in 1966, and an MFA in Painting from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri in 1968. He served in the U. S. Army from 1968 to 1970, then settled in St. Louis and began his full-time artistic career.

    He exhibited at many commercial galleries in St. Louis, as well galleries in Texas, Illinois, New York, and elsewhere.

    Museums that exhibited his work included the St. Louis Art Museum, Evansville Museum of Arts and Science, Springfield Art Museum, Nelson-Atkins Museum, Delaware Art Museum, and Tucson Art Museum.
