    Janisch belonged to the avant-garde group of artists from Lviv, called "artes". He studied painting about Zofia Albinowska-Minkiewiczowa and the State Industrial School with Kazimierz Sichulski.

    In the 1920s, he traveled to Paris twice. During World War II, he lived in Krakow, and then in Warsaw. He practiced painting inspired by Fauvism, while belonging to the "artes" group by surrealism. He practiced oil painting, drawing, but also avant-garde techniques of collage and photomontage.
